BMW PSdZData (
Programming Station / Diagnostic Target Data) is the official ECU calibration, configuration, and flash database for modern BMW vehicles (F-, G-, and I-series). It is not a standalone executable application, but rather the data backend used by software like
E-Sys and
ISTA+.
Core Role
- Vehicle Architecture: Modern F-, G-, and I-series chassis (replacing legacy SP-DATEN used for E-series).
- Function: Provides the integration levels (I-Step targets), software calibration tables, and communication scripts required to read, code, and flash electronic control units.
What It Contains
- CAFD files: Configuration descriptors used for Vehicle Order (VO) coding and feature-level (FDL) parameter customization.
- SWE / SWFL binaries: Complete firmware and flash payload blocks used for ECU software updates and module replacement programming.
- Integration Data: Vehicle description XMLs and mapping tables that correlate chassis types to supported software revisions.
Editions
- PSdZData Lite (~2–4 GB): Contains only description files and CAFD configurations. Designed for feature coding and adaptations in E-Sys without heavy flash binaries.
- PSdZData Full / SDP (~100–140 GB): Includes all firmware flash binaries and bootloaders alongside configuration files. Required for full ECU flashing, firmware updates, and offline ISTA+ programming.
